Adding an image or PDF to the Web Editor is very much like adding anything else to Web Editor, except for two special fields: Name, and Internal Title.
Name Under the name field is a box for the exact name of the file on your computer that you want to add to the Web Editor. Fortunately, you do not have to type the name in manually: by clicking on the Browse button, which is located to the right of the box, you can browse your hard drive and select the file you want to upload.
Internal Title When you add an image or a PDF to the Web Editor you have to enter a name into the Internal Title field. The Web Editor will use this name to identify the file you are uploading in the future.
For example, if you upload a picture called "headwaters.jpg" and in the Internal Title field enter "Headwaters Forest at Sunset" then later when you go to attach this image to an article, update, or other item in the Web Editor, you will be able to select "Headwaters Forest at Sunset" from a drop down list. No one that visits your web site will be able to see the name you enter in the Internal Title field - it is only for your use, so you can identify and recognize the file later.
**Important: For technical reasons, the Internal Title field can only contain letters, numbers, and spaces - no other characters such as dashes, periods, or slashes are allowed.
When adding a picture, there is also a Caption field which is what will show up on the web site, along with the Photo Credit. There are no restrictions on the characters you may enter in these fields.
PDFs also include a Title field, which is what will be used as the link to the PDF from the page that references it. So, for example, if you enter the Internal Title as "Projects Headwaters Forest Court Ruling 2004" and the Title as "Court rules on Headwaters Forest Application/Permit - Follow up Ruling expected," and then add this PDF as a related document to a page in the Pages service, the Title field, "Court rules..." will show up as a link to the PDF. Like the Caption and Photo Credit fields, there are no restrictions on the characters for the Title field
