URL and Email Address Links

The Web Editor has a built special syntax that makes adding a link to another web page or email address incredibly easy.

URLs
To add a link to another web page all you have to do is place a * on either side of the URL. So for example, if you want http://www.treesfoundation.org to be a clickable link to Trees' home page, all you have to do is type *http://www.treesfoundation.org*, which will show up on the web like this: http://www.treesfoundation.org. There can not be any spaces in the URL, or on either side of the URL before the * (neither * http://www.treesfoundation.org* nor *http://www.treesfoundation.org * will work).

If you want the text of the link to be something different than the URL, all you have to do is type a star, the text for the link, two stars the URL, and then a closing star. So to make the words click here in the phrase "click here to visit Trees Foundation's web site" a link to http://www.treesfoundation.org type:

*click here**http://www.treesfoundation.org* to visit Trees Foundation's web site.

Email addresses
To make an email address into a clickable link, use the same syntax as a URL with a * on either side of the address, like *someone@somewhere.com*.
