Overview
The Donor Advised Program links the conservation goals of individuals and the funding needs of community-based environmental organizations. Trees Foundation has managed the Donor Advised Program on behalf of charitable donors and its conservation partners since 1999. During this time Trees has worked closely with donors to direct hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax-deductible gifts to regional conservation and restoration partners. In today’s challenging fundraising climate, the donations of private individuals are more important than ever. Steep cuts in government and institutional funding have decreased the funds available for small grassroots environmental organizations and impacted many North Coast projects. Trees is working to expand Donor Advised giving by reaching out to individuals looking to combine generosity with environmental vision. Donors can target their tax-deductible contribution to North Coast conservation and restoration projects that fit their wildlands recovery objectives without the administrative burden often associated with multi-faceted donations.
Conservation-minded individuals and families can rely on the Donor Advised Program to enable their wildlands recovery vision by soliciting
project proposals from within the Trees network of grassroots groups.
Donors determine their level of charitable giving and determine which
projects meet their objectives. Trees coordinates the application process,
administers the fund dispersal, provides complete record keeping, and
monitors grant tracking requirements, all free of charge.
