Salmonid Restoration Federation
In the 1970?s, concerns over declining salmonid populations led to increased citizen involvement in fisheries restoration. This trend in citizen involvement grew in the 1980?s and led to the development of many new and unique restoration approaches, a process that is still ongoing. (read more)

CDF and Board of Forestry Attempt to
On May 18, 2001, acting on a lawsuit brought by the Campaign to Restore Jackson State Redwood Forest, the Superior Court of Mendocino issued a Preliminary Injunction prohibiting the California Department of Forestry (CDF) from logging in Jackson State Forest under the long-outdated 1983 Management Plan. Headwaters Forest Wilderness Forever!
The Bay Area Coalition for Headwaters (BACH) has been building support through educational outreach and grassroots organizing in the Bay Area and other urban centers for the preservation of redwood forest ecosystems since its inception in 1993. BACH acts as the conduit for connecting local Bay Area environmentalists with North Coast forest activists in the fight to preserve the last of California?s old growth redwood and Douglas-fir ecosystems.
