Trees Foundation awarded 2009 Sempervirens Award for Lasting Achievement in Environmental Advocacy
Environmental Protection Information Center (EPIC)
December 18, 2009
Each year the Environmental Protection Information Center (EPIC) selects one individual to receive this prestigious award. This year Trees Foundation was the honored recipient. Thank you EPIC and thank you to all of the Trees Foundation supporters--we could not have done it without you!
Inscription on plaque:
Founded to nourish Southern Humboldt County's flowering environmental efforts in the early 1990s, the Trees Foundation has grown a grove of forest and river protection groups without equal on Earth
Acting on the Knowledge that decisions about nature are dominated by those who would liquidate the public trust for private gain, the Trees collective provides essential skills, equipment, and support to conservation and restoration efforts, ensuring the vitality of our bioregion.
We thank the Trees family for their vision, commitment, and diligent efforts in support of so many community struggles, protecting the Sinkyone, saving the Headwaters Forest, securing roadless and old-growth forests across the public lands, and restoring our forests and watersheds.
