Cereus Fund Announces 7th Annual Grassroots Grant Awards
April 4, 2005
The Cereus Fund of the Trees Foundation, a donor-advised fund, was happy to announce in January the grassroots organizations that it will support for 2005. The Cereus Fund is committed to grassroots solutions to environmental challenges and the building of sustainable communities along California's biologically-rich North Coast by funding projects of Trees Foundation's partners.
This year Cereus Fund is supporting projects of Ancient Forest International, Bay Area Coalition for Headwaters, California Wilderness Legacy Project, Eel River Salmon Restoration Project, Environmentally Sound Promotions, Headwaters Action Video Collective, Institute for Sustainable Forestry, Mill Creek Watershed Conservancy, North Coast Earth First!, Pepper Spray Plaintiffs, Piercy Watersheds Association, Restoration, Salmon Forever, Salmon Protection And Watershed Network (SPAWN), Salmon Restoration Federation, and Sanctuary Forest.
The Cereus Fund is a partner in Trees Foundation's Donor-Advised Program, which links the conservation goals of individuals and the funding needs of community-based conservation and restoration organizations. Donors determine their level of tax-deductible giving and decide which projects meet their objectives. Trees Foundation coordinates all other aspects of the granting process. Individuals interested in establishing a Donor-Advised Fund can contact Doug Wallace at Trees Foundation, 707/923-4377, or community@treesfoundation.org.
