and hopefully we feel prepared now
the wood in and most of our
outdoor projects completed
we can take the time now, finally
to sit for a moment, and breathe
and enjoy this welcome bit of sunshine
and drink a cold glass from the spring
and gaze on the woodpile
already feeling the heat
that our past will bring to our future
living off the fruits
of the land and our labor
how long has it been
since we sat
and watch the trees (now turning)
and the sky (now churning)
and reflect on
the breeze in the trees
the rocks and the hawks
the way these things all play off one another
and things changing,
and things remaining the same
we push and we pull for so long
it's good to take this break
