We are readying for our next field school, to be held in Berkeley Forestry Camp, near Quincy. This field school will be held this September and will be focused on road construction and reconstruction for erosion control and fish passage. This field based hands on school has been very popular over the years and as a result we have recently sought additional funding which will allow us to expand the field school coverage over a larger part of California, mainly in the Central Coast and Central Valley area.

The Salmonid Restoration Federation will be holding our 21'st Annual Restoration Conference in San Luis Obispo in March 2003. Some of the topics to be covered will include agriculture and salmonid streams, survey and assessment techniques, urban streams, hydrology for beginners, southern endangered fish species, southern sierra trout, land conservation strategies, exotic plant and fish controls, restoration monitoring, nutrient cycling and education. We will be again hosting a social mixer and poster session as well as producing our annual banquet.
