The Committee for the Sinkyone played a vital role in the Sinkyone Wilderness State Park's formation and development. Through networking with the California Department of Parks and Recreation and local governments, as well as taking part in the public planning process, the Committee continues to work toward the Park's inclusion in the state wilderness system General Plan completion and restoration of the Sinkyone coastal wilderness. The Committee encourages the involvement of Native American groups in Sinkyone management, particularly in restoration projects.
